A vegan visits Las Vegas

by Neighborhood Vegan

Do you know what might not be the best idea? Traveling to Las Vegas soon after the country “reopens” after a pandemic leaves you stuck at home for well over a year, in the middle of a record-breaking heat wave, and just before the long 4th of July holiday weekend.

Large crowds of people + hot as hell temperatures + long holiday weekend = oh god, what have I done!

Walking a mile or so, twice, in temperatures hovering at around 106° F also not a good idea. Just so you know.

It was probably because of the extreme heat and the crowds, but my food photography was seriously lacking on this particular trip. I’ll work on that next time, but thankfully I have some photos from previous trips to fill in some of the gaps.

For even more places with vegan options in Las Vegas, check out the Vegans, Baby section on the city. Tons of information and resources over there!

Las Vegas is more than the Strip and casinos. If you go, be sure to make it to the Arts District. Besides Tacotarian and ReBAR, there’s some cool antique shops to browse too.  A nice break from all of the flashy lights and craziness of the Strip.

For a truly unique experience, be sure to check out Area 15 too. I can’t describe it, just go experience it for yourself!
