I think we can all agree this comic by The Awkward Yeti sums up the past year perfectly. It does for me anyway. I’m starting to think it’s for the best these days, so I’ll just skip over a bunch of stuff. Trust me. You’re not missing anything.
Right then. On with the updates!
First up, I decided to return to university for a master’s degree in digital marketing. I know. Crazy right? I needed a structured purpose to get me out of my 2020 funk and without a job (still), it seemed like the right thing to do. Plus, it’ll give me some knowledge to give me some direction around here. Let’s face it. The flailing around thing is not working.
One of the courses I’m taking this term is social media marketing. Among the assignments is writing a few blog posts and I’ve been using my blog here to post them. So if you’ve stumbled across them and wondered wtf, there is some method to that particular madness. I will most likely archive them at the end of the term, but it’s been inspiring to get the feedback from my classmates. Now all I have to do is keep that momentum going!
You mean we can travel again?!
For the first time since the pre-pandemic days, it’s vacation time in a couple of weeks. To say I can’t wait would be an understatement. I’ve already started packing a few things and I’m trying to plan what I want to take. By which I mean my goal is to not overpack. I’m pretty sure that’s not going to go too well and I’ll need a crane just to lift my suitcase into the trunk of the car. Always happens.
So where to you ask? Las Vegas, Nevada. I can’t fully explain it, but I love the city. It’s not the glitz or the gambling, although it makes it fun to people-watch. As someone who’s always felt weird and out of place, I don’t feel that there. I suppose I feel comfortable in my own skin, is the best way I can describe it. And I found I absolutely love the desert and the overall geography. The city is also teeming with vegan options these days. More and more seem to pop up every year. Look for more on Las Vegas and my adventures there in future posts!
